Can we build a compassed air vehicle that would be practical. Recharged at home each night. Why not? View All
Put several air tanks all over the car ,how far could you go on a fill-up. We have gas stations every half. mile. A couple hundred dollars and gas stations could be a compressed air station. This would be easier than switching to hydrogen.

Just a thought.

Before even figuring out if I could do it, I'd figure out what happens when a high speed collision between two high pressure gas cylinders collide.

Yes it is possible to build a car that has a engine that runs on compressed air. But first you need to get or build a engine that will run on compress air. Like electric vehicles or any vehicle the heavier the vehicle the more energy is needed to move it! So lighter smaller vehicles like an old Volkswagen Golf is a start option or start with a go-cart like vehicle.

There has been a few places like in France and Korea that have been experimenting with compressed air vehicles. The most successful is from France made by Moteur Developpment International or MDI. The company has filed for a patent for their air engine design. There use to be good pictures and videos of the vehicles on the web. The MDI air car were a little noisy and were used as taxis in southern France.

Their website is

MDI was trying to produce the vehicles in India.

There was not much information about the Korean design.
