Job Description: Job Title: Development Engineer II

Location: West Metro area of the Twin Cities

Position Type: Permanent full-time

Salary: 60k - 70k

Job Description: Our client is seeking a Development Engineer who will support the development of electromechanical power and control schematics for commercial HVAC units. Other responsibilities include modifying schematics into key building blocks that can be integrated (based on customer-selected feature set) into as-build schematics for highly variable, configurable products. Applying rules-based design to size/select control and power components and wiring, and to configure output into generated bills of material. Develop test and debug programs to assure accurate output from above processes. Evaluate and implement new programming tools to streamline above processes. Prepare complete documentation of processes and design for schematic generation and electrical design.

Education and Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
3-5 years of related experience, preferably in the HVAC industry.
Knowledge of National Electrical Code and electrical power design.
Experience with applicable UL safety standards.
Experience with bill of material systems. Knowledge of rules-based design, a plus.
PC skills including Microsoft Office applications. Basic skills with CAD applications, a plus.
Basic understanding of VB and .NET programming languages.
Strong organizational, interpersonal and communications skills.
Project management skills, a plus.
